Martin Luther King, Jr. synthesized vision, leadership, passion, hope, & inspiration with words. We will be creating a project that will invite participants young & old to use the words of Dr. King’s “I Have a Dream” text to visually express one’s own understanding of the speech, which Dr. King delivered on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial. Each participant will use various art tools & media to reshape printed pages of Dr. King’s speech into visual compositions & collages that celebrate Dr. King’s legacy on this inspirational day. Ryan Lilienthal, local oil painter & mixed media artist, community immigration lawyer & Arts Council of Princeton board member, will help facilitate the program along with Bayard Rustin Center for Social Justice Chief Activist Robt Seda-Schreiber.
