A poet, educator, & New York Times Bestselling author of 35 numerous awards winnin’ books, includin’ THE UNDEFEATED, THE CROSSOVER, BECOMING MUHAMMAD ALI, & his newest LIGHT FOR THE WORLD TO SEE, Kwame is a regular contributor to NPR's Morning Edition, & recipient of numerous awards & honors, including The Coretta Scott King Author Honor, two Lee Bennett Hopkins Poetry Prizes, & three NAACP Image Award Nominations. He’s led cultural exchange delegations to Brazil, Italy, Singapore, and Ghana, where he built the Barbara E. Alexander Memorial Library & Health Clinic, as a part of LEAP for Ghana, an international literacy program he co-founded.
He lives in the UK where he is the writer-in-residence at the American School in London.
