Social Justice Power Hour!
Kelly Sue DeConnick began her comics career writing the English adaptations of Japanese manga for Tokyopop & VIZ, & after five years & more than 10,000 pages on books, she transitioned to American comics with a bang~
Today, she is well-known in the mainstream market as the force behind Carol Danvers' reinvention as Captain Marvel (which directly influenced the 2019 film for which she worked as a consultant) & as the first female writer of an ongoing Avengers title. Kelly Sue is also huge on the independent scene with PRETTY DEADLY & BITCH PLANET among many other titles. She made her debut writing for DC Comics with the ongoing series AQUAMAN in 2018. Now her extraordinary WONDER WOMAN HISTORIA: THE AMAZONS created with our good friend & queer comix trailblazer Phil Jimenez hit the stands late last year & has just been blowin' up. She also develops television with her husband & partner, Matt Fraction, as Milkfed Criminal Masterminds, as well as co-founded & co-owns GOOD TROUBLE PRODUCTIONS with another wonderful mutual friend, Andrew Aydin among many other inspirational folx.
