David Kamp
David writes books, articles, lyrics, & humor & has been a good friend & stalwart ally to the Power Hour all the way back to when he first appeared in our nascent days. Tonite we celebrate the paperback release of his delightful “Sunny Days”, a history of the Sesame Street-Mister Rogers era of enlightened children’s television.
His other books include the national bestseller, “The United States of Arugula”, a chronicle of America’s foodways, & the “Snob’s Dictionary” series of humor books. A longtime contributor to Vanity Fair, he has profiled such figures as Johnny Cash, Sly Stone, Lucian Freud, Kerry Washington, Bruce Springsteen, John Hughes, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, & the Brill Building songwriters. His work has also appeared in the New York Times, GQ, The Wall Street Journal, & The Atlantic. His first outing as a lyricist for the stage was workin’ with the extraordinary John Leguizamo on the musical comedy “Kiss My Aztec!”
